OFSAA Prep

Our OFSAA Prep Program four-month training program built specifically for athletes preparing for the OFSAA Track & Field Championships. We guide athletes through their entire season from conference meets and city championships to regionals and OFSAA.
Training is tailored to each athlete and their event, progressing throughout the
season to develop the technical, physical, and race-specific qualities needed at each stage of competition. The program is ideal for athletes looking for focused, additional training beyond what they receive through their school or club program.
This program is ideal for athletes who are looking for extra training beyond what they currently have access to whether through their school team or other. It provides the additional focused work needed to close the gap between simply qualifying for city championships and being fully prepared to perform at the highest level. For the athlete who wants to arrive at OFSAA prepared, confident, and ready to chase their best possible result.

GENERAL STRENGTH + WEIGHTS - In The Gym
Athletes are introduced to weight training with a focus on learning proper technique, movement mechanics, and safe lifting practices. Strength work is specifically designed for track and field, building the power and strength needed for sprinting, running, jumping, and overall athletic performance. This is purposeful athletic training—not simply time spent in the gym.

RUNNING SESSIONS - In The Gym
Running sessions are tailored to each athlete’s event, with workouts that evolve throughout the season as athletes develop. Athletes build efficient running mechanics, develop speed and endurance, and prepare their bodies for the demands of track and field. Each session has a specific purpose, helping athletes develop the fitness and skills needed to perform at their best.

RACE APPLICATION DAY - On The Track
This is where athletes take their training to the track and put it all together. Athletes complete event-specific workouts, testing, and technical work while applying the mechanics developed through their strength and running sessions. The goal is to sharpen the details, build race-specific skills, and learn how to execute.
On non-training days, athletes receive guided work that may include general strength, additional workouts, recovery, or scheduled rest days. This hybrid approach helps young athletes learn to balance training with school, sports, and other demands while developing time-management skills, independence, and accountability. They begin to understand that staying healthy and progressing as an athlete requires consistent habits outside of structured training sessions and that ultimately, their development is something they have to take ownership of.
COMPETITION SUPPORT
Training and support continue throughout the entire competitive season, from early-season invitationals and conference meets through to championships and OFSAA. Athletes have ongoing access to our coaches and training resources, with opportunities to ask questions, review race and event video, discuss performances, and make adjustments as the season progresses.
On competition days, our coaches are there to provide guidance and support before, during, and after competition. Athletes can continue training with us throughout the season, even if their competition season ends earlier than expected. There is always more to learn, improve, and prepare for, and we encourage athletes to keep showing up and taking advantage of the resources available to them.
